竹溪寺塬名小西天寺,建于明永歷年間,為最早創建的寺院。因臨竹溪而改名為竹溪寺,,庇鄰體育公園與忠烈祠。竹溪寺歷經多次整修,現貌為中西合璧,與塬貌大不相同;屋頂采宮殿式,大門則為西式的落地窗,造型特殊,寺貌宏偉不凡。正殿是大雄寶殿,供奉釋迦牟尼佛;后殿為觀音殿,左右羅列十八羅漢,旁祀媽祖、關帝神像。

基本介紹

佛(fo)教寺(si)院竹溪(xi)寺(si)曾為(wei)清(qing)代臺灣佛(fo)教三(san)大名(ming)剎之一。清(qing)初至民(min)國初年,該寺(si)為(wei)臺灣佛(fo)教徒崇(chong)仰的中心,有重(zhong)(zhong)要影響。竹溪(xi)寺(si)前臨溪(xi)流,沿畔幽(you)篁成蔭。三(san)川門、拜殿(dian)(dian)(dian)、主殿(dian)(dian)(dian)與后(hou)殿(dian)(dian)(dian)均(jun)為(wei)三(san)層樓,屋頂采歇山重(zhong)(zhong)詹(zhan)(zhan)的宮殿(dian)(dian)(dian)布局,飾有斗(dou)栱、彩繪、雀替(ti)、重(zhong)(zhong)詹(zhan)(zhan)等華麗雕琢(zhuo),兩(liang)側(ce)還有鐘鼓樓及禪(chan)房,內部采西式(shi)結構,大門則(ze)為(wei)落地(di)窗,外觀(guan)呈中西合(he)璧,白墻綠(lv)瓦佇立(li)于溪(xi)谷低(di)地(di),形(xing)勢壯闊雄偉,僅存山門為(wei)昔(xi)日舊構,燕脊重(zhong)(zhong)詹(zhan)(zhan),紅磚黑瓦、鏤空雕花,上書“竹溪(xi)古(gu)寺(si)”,顯得格外古(gu)樸。正殿(dian)(dian)(dian)是大雄寶殿(dian)(dian)(dian),供奉釋迦牟尼佛(fo);后(hou)殿(dian)(dian)(dian)為(wei)觀(guan)音殿(dian)(dian)(dian),左右羅(luo)列十八羅(luo)漢,旁祀媽祖(zu)、關帝神像;兩(liang)尊(zun)白象(xiang)雄踞拜殿(dian)(dian)(dian)前左右兩(liang)側(ce),益增(zeng)禪(chan)林氣息。竹溪(xi)寺(si)歷(li)史悠(you)久,寺(si)內題(ti)詩、聯句和匾額相當多,大雄寶殿(dian)(dian)(dian)內所(suo)懸“了然世界”,名(ming)列府(fu)城三(san)大名(ming)匾,頗富禪(chan)意。

臺(tai)(tai)灣(wan)(wan)省古老的寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)院(yuan)。位(wei)于臺(tai)(tai)南市區。創建(jian)(jian)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)代眾說紛(fen)紜,一(yi)說建(jian)(jian)于明(ming)·永歷(li)(li)十(shi)(shi)(shi)五年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(1661),或說十(shi)(shi)(shi)八(ba)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)末、十(shi)(shi)(shi)九年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)初(chu);一(yi)說清(qing)(qing)(qing)·康熙二(er)(er)十(shi)(shi)(shi)二(er)(er)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)1683所(suo)(suo)建(jian)(jian),或說三(san)(san)(san)十(shi)(shi)(shi)二(er)(er)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)。初(chu)名(ming)(ming)小西天寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si),以寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)旁綠竹(zhu)(zhu)茂(mao)密,林(lin)中(zhong)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)流激(ji)湍,故又名(ming)(ming)竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)。后(hou)遭(zao)風(feng)雨(yu)侵蝕(shi),堂宇陳腐不(bu)堪,經(jing)清(qing)(qing)(qing)·乾隆、嘉慶、光緒(xu)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)間(jian)的三(san)(san)(san)度維修(xiu),寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)貌(mao)(mao)煥然(ran)一(yi)新;復經(jing)民初(chu)以來歷(li)(li)代住持的增建(jian)(jian),遂具今日規模(mo)。本寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)與開(kai)元(yuan)、法華二(er)(er)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)為(wei)(wei)清(qing)(qing)(qing)末至民初(chu),全臺(tai)(tai)灣(wan)(wan)佛(fo)教的大本營。竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)原名(ming)(ming)小西天寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si),因(yin)臨竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)而改名(ming)(ming)為(wei)(wei)竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si),位(wei)在(zai)巿區南側,建(jian)(jian)于明(ming)永歷(li)(li)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)間(jian)。竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)歷(li)(li)經(jing)多次整修(xiu),現貌(mao)(mao)為(wei)(wei)中(zhong)西合璧,與原貌(mao)(mao)大不(bu)相同;屋頂采宮(gong)殿(dian)式(shi),大門為(wei)(wei)西式(shi)落地窗,造(zao)型(xing)特別(bie)。正殿(dian)大雄寶殿(dian),供奉釋迦牟尼佛(fo);后(hou)殿(dian)為(wei)(wei)觀音,羅列十(shi)(shi)(shi)八(ba)羅漢,旁祀媽祖(zu)、關帝神像。竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)歷(li)(li)史悠久。值(zhi)得前往觀覽。竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)依(yi)山傍水,竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)潺(chan)潺(chan)流過,上有(you)(you)吊(diao)橋連對岸(an),溪(xi)(xi)(xi)畔繁花茂(mao)盛,竹(zhu)(zhu)林(lin)蒼翠,頗為(wei)(wei)清(qing)(qing)(qing)幽(you)。臺(tai)(tai)灣(wan)(wan)較早的寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)院(yuan)。永歷(li)(li)三(san)(san)(san)十(shi)(shi)(shi)七年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)即清(qing)(qing)(qing)·康熙二(er)(er)十(shi)(shi)(shi) 二(er)(er)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(1683)鄭(zheng)成(cheng)功裔孫(sun)鄭(zheng)克塽降清(qing)(qing)(qing),經(jing)設一(yi)府(fu)(fu)(fu)三(san)(san)(san)縣(xian)(xian),府(fu)(fu)(fu)名(ming)(ming)臺(tai)(tai)灣(wan)(wan)府(fu)(fu)(fu),縣(xian)(xian)為(wei)(wei)臺(tai)(tai)灣(wan)(wan)、鳳(feng)山及諸羅等三(san)(san)(san)縣(xian)(xian)。康熙三(san)(san)(san)十(shi)(shi)(shi)二(er)(er)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)臺(tai)(tai)灣(wan)(wan)府(fu)(fu)(fu)第(di)(di)二(er)(er)任知府(fu)(fu)(fu)吳國柱倡議于寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)旁建(jian)(jian)書院(yuan),士(shi)庶(shu)輦石(shi)輸材,諭(yu)禁不(bu)能止,稱為(wei)(wei)竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)書院(yuan),經(jing)塑(su)肖像祀焉。此(ci)據清(qing)(qing)(qing)領(ling)后(hou)十(shi)(shi)(shi)一(yi)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian),即康熙三(san)(san)(san)十(shi)(shi)(shi)三(san)(san)(san)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)較早纂修(xiu)《臺(tai)(tai)灣(wan)(wan)府(fu)(fu)(fu)志》有(you)(you)所(suo)(suo)記載。該志對清(qing)(qing)(qing)領(ling)后(hou)創建(jian)(jian)之各寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)代均有(you)(you)記述,竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)則未(wei)記,似非在(zai)清(qing)(qing)(qing)領(ling)十(shi)(shi)(shi)一(yi)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)內新建(jian)(jian),因(yin)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)代已(yi)久,修(xiu)志時已(yi)無法查考,或未(wei)便明(ming)記所(suo)(suo)致(zhi),其創建(jian)(jian)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)代即可證實系建(jian)(jian)自(zi)明(ming)鄭(zheng)時期(qi)。又據三(san)(san)(san)十(shi)(shi)(shi)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)第(di)(di)二(er)(er)任臺(tai)(tai)灣(wan)(wan)府(fu)(fu)(fu)同知齊體物所(suo)(suo)詠(yong)竹(zhu)(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)詩,有(you)(you)梵宮(gong)偏得占名(ming)(ming)山,屼作蠻州第(di)(di)一(yi)觀之句,其含義為(wei)(wei)此(ci)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)占得名(ming)(ming)山且為(wei)(wei)臺(tai)(tai)島之第(di)(di)一(yi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)院(yuan)。

建筑設計

全(quan)(quan)臺灣看(kan)起來,要以(yi)(yi)竹溪(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)大(da)(da)(da)(da)殿(dian)為較最大(da)(da)(da)(da),寺(si)(si)(si)內(nei)主(zhu)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)為觀音菩(pu)薩(sa),寺(si)(si)(si)廟的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)布局大(da)(da)(da)(da)多(duo)是(shi)正(zheng)(zheng)面(mian)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)路為山(shan)(shan)門(men)(men),山(shan)(shan)門(men)(men)內(nei)左(zuo)右(you)分別(bie)為鐘樓、鼓樓,正(zheng)(zheng)面(mian)是(shi)天(tian)王(wang)殿(dian),殿(dian)內(nei)有(you)(you)四大(da)(da)(da)(da)金剛(gang)塑(su)像(xiang),后(hou)面(mian)依次為大(da)(da)(da)(da)雄寶殿(dian)和藏(zang)經樓,僧房(fang)、齋(zhai)堂則分列正(zheng)(zheng)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)路左(zuo)右(you)兩(liang)側。大(da)(da)(da)(da)雄寶殿(dian)是(shi)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)寺(si)(si)(si)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)重要、龐(pang)大(da)(da)(da)(da)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu),大(da)(da)(da)(da)雄即為佛(fo)(fo)(fo)祖釋加牟尼。隋唐(tang)(tang)以(yi)(yi)前的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)寺(si)(si)(si),一般在寺(si)(si)(si)前或宅院中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)心造塔(ta),隋唐(tang)(tang)以(yi)(yi)后(hou),佛(fo)(fo)(fo)殿(dian)普(pu)(pu)遍代替了佛(fo)(fo)(fo)塔(ta),寺(si)(si)(si)廟內(nei)大(da)(da)(da)(da)都另辟塔(ta)院。中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)寺(si)(si)(si)不論規模(mo)地(di)點,其建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu)布局是(shi)有(you)(you)一定規律(lv)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de):平面(mian)方形,以(yi)(yi)山(shan)(shan)門(men)(men)殿(dian)——天(tian)王(wang)殿(dian)——大(da)(da)(da)(da)雄寶殿(dian)——本寺(si)(si)(si)主(zhu)供菩(pu)薩(sa)殿(dian)——法堂——藏(zang)經樓這條南(nan)北(bei)縱深(shen)軸線來組(zu)織空(kong)間(jian),對(dui)稱(cheng)穩重且整飭(chi)嚴謹。沿著(zhu)(zhu)這條中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)軸線,前后(hou)建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu)起承(cheng)轉合(he),宛(wan)若一曲前呼后(hou)應、氣韻(yun)生動的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)樂章。中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)寺(si)(si)(si)廟的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu)之(zhi)美就響應在群(qun)山(shan)(shan)、松柏、流水、殿(dian)落與亭廊的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)相(xiang)互呼應之(zhi)間(jian),含(han)蓄溫蘊,展示出(chu)組(zu)合(he)變幻(huan)所賦予的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)和諧、寧靜及韻(yun)味。中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)古(gu)人在建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu)格局上有(you)(you)很深(shen)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)陰陽宇宙觀和崇(chong)尚對(dui)稱(cheng)、秩序、穩定的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)審美心理。因此中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)寺(si)(si)(si)融合(he)了中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)特(te)有(you)(you)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)祭(ji)祀祖宗(zong)、天(tian)地(di)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)功能。此外(wai)(wai),園林式建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu)格局的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)寺(si)(si)(si)在中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)也(ye)(ye)較普(pu)(pu)遍。這兩(liang)種藝(yi)術格局使中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)寺(si)(si)(si)院既有(you)(you)典雅(ya)莊(zhuang)重的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)廟堂氣氛,又(you)極富自(zi)然情趣,且意境深(shen)遠。寺(si)(si)(si)廟建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu)全(quan)(quan)國(guo)各地(di)比(bi)比(bi)皆是(shi),不論是(shi)建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu)規模(mo),還(huan)是(shi)建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu)藝(yi)術都是(shi)被(bei)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)外(wai)(wai)旅游者(zhe)(zhe)所稱(cheng)絕的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)。天(tian)王(wang)殿(dian)兩(liang)側是(shi)四大(da)(da)(da)(da)天(tian)王(wang)彩塑(su)像(xiang),高各八米(mi),個個身(shen)披重甲。其中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)兩(liang)個形態威武,兩(liang)個神色和善,俗(su)稱(cheng)四大(da)(da)(da)(da)金剛(gang)。看(kan)這座門(men)(men)樓,它(ta)高達20米(mi),寬4.5米(mi),全(quan)(quan)系青、白(bai)崗石(shi)(shi)砌(qi)疊而(er)成的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de),是(shi)一個三(san)層穹形頂的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)尖拱門(men)(men),分外(wai)(wai)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)、內(nei)三(san)層,在外(wai)(wai)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)兩(liang)層的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)上部都有(you)(you)青石(shi)(shi)作圓(yuan)形穹頂,有(you)(you)著(zhu)(zhu)和我國(guo)古(gu)建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)“藻井”相(xiang)類似的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)石(shi)(shi)構圖案,頂蓋采(cai)用(yong)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)傳統的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)蓮花圖案,門(men)(men)樓正(zheng)(zheng)額橫嵌阿拉伯(bo)文浮雕(diao)石(shi)(shi)刻,寫道:“真(zhen)主(zhu)秉公作證(zheng),除(chu)他(ta)外(wai)(wai),絕無(wu)應受崇(chong)拜(bai)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de);眾天(tian)神和一般學者(zhe)(zhe),也(ye)(ye)這樣作證(zheng),除(chu)他(ta)外(wai)(wai),絕無(wu)應受崇(chong)拜(bai)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de),他(ta)是(shi)萬能的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de),是(shi)至睿的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)所喜悅的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)宗(zong)教,石(shi)(shi)刻,上面(mian)記載著(zhu)(zhu)竹溪(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)創建(jian)年代重修(xiu)時間(jian)以(yi)(yi)及較早的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)名稱(cheng),門(men)(men)樓頂層是(shi)望(wang)月臺,決定起齋(zhai)日期的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)地(di)方,臺的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)周圍三(san)面(mian)建(jian)筑(zhu)(zhu)回字形的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)垛子(zi),像(xiang)城堞一樣,別(bie)有(you)(you)風(feng)致,平臺上原來還(huan)有(you)(you)望(wang)月樓和尖塔(ta),清朝初年倒坍了。

竹溪寺(si)(si)依山(shan)傍水,松柏長(chang)青(qing),花(hua)草遍地,山(shan)後水庫截河十幾里(li),碧波(bo)粼粼,涵照萬象(xiang)。進了山(shan)門(men),拾級而升,各(ge)殿門(men)前的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)漢(han)白玉石獅威猛無比(bi),正殿內(nei)(nei)供奉(feng)威儀莊(zhuang)嚴的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)貼金諸(zhu)佛(fo)(fo)菩(pu)薩(sa)(sa)尊(zun)者像(xiang),端(duan)莊(zhuang)肅穆。偏(pian)殿供藥(yao)殿佛(fo)(fo)、地藏菩(pu)請看這里(li)是寺(si)(si)內(nei)(nei)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)宣禮塔(ta)(ta)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)塔(ta)(ta)址,當(dang)年,宣禮塔(ta)(ta)塔(ta)(ta)形(xing)如柱,高聳奇(qi)偉,殿正中(zhong)(zhong),佛(fo)(fo)祖釋(shi)(shi)迦牟尼像(xiang)高踞蓮花(hua)座(zuo)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)上,妙相(xiang)莊(zhuang)嚴,頷首俯視(shi),令人(ren)敬畏。這是中(zhong)(zhong)國較(jiao)高大(da)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)木雕坐式佛(fo)(fo)像(xiang)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)一。釋(shi)(shi)祖像(xiang)后(hou)壁為(wei)《五(wu)十三(san)(san)參》彩繪(hui)群塑,共有(you)姿(zi)態各(ge)異的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)大(da)小佛(fo)(fo)教塑像(xiang)一百五(wu)十尊(zun),表現的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)是佛(fo)(fo)經(jing)中(zhong)(zhong)財童(tong)子歷經(jing)磨(mo)難參拜(bai)五(wu)十三(san)(san)位(wei)《善知識》名師(shi),終于得(de)證佛(fo)(fo)果 的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)故(gu)事。這座(zuo)內(nei)(nei)容豐富形(xing)象(xiang)生動的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)壁塑的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)主像(xiang)是足(zu)踏鰲(ao)背,手執凈瓶的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)觀世音菩(pu)薩(sa)(sa),她意態瀟灑(sa),祥和(he)地接受著善財童(tong)子的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)參拜(bai)。釋(shi)(shi)迦牟尼造(zao)像(xiang)靈隱寺(si)(si)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)原釋(shi)(shi)迦牟尼佛(fo)(fo)像(xiang),這座(zuo)佛(fo)(fo)像(xiang)是在重修寺(si)(si)宇時(shi),由浙江(jiang)美術學院(yuan)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)雕塑家和(he)民間藝(yi)人(ren)們(men)采(cai)用唐代禪宗佛(fo)(fo)像(xiang)為(wei)藍(lan)本共同精心設計的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)。佛(fo)(fo)像(xiang)高十九點六米,比(bi)原先(xian)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)釋(shi)(shi)迦造(zao)像(xiang)高一倍多,用近百塊香樟木雕成。佛(fo)(fo)像(xiang)造(zao)型(xing)端(duan)莊(zhuang)凝重,低眉(mei)細目,氣韶生動,極度具風采(cai)。藥(yao)師(shi)殿為(wei)重建,殿中(zhong)(zhong)供奉(feng)藥(yao)師(shi)佛(fo)(fo)像(xiang)及(ji)日(ri)天(tian)、月天(tian)。殿左(zuo),有(you)重建的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)羅(luo)漢(han)堂,陳列五(wu)百羅(luo)漢(han)像(xiang)線(xian)刻石。寺(si)(si)院(yuan)內(nei)(nei)還(huan)有(you)配(pei)殿四座(zuo)立于院(yuan)落兩側,布(bu)局(ju)嚴謹,排列有(you)序,形(xing)成一組(zu)完整的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)寺(si)(si)院(yuan)建筑群。第三(san)(san)進院(yuan)為(wei)藏經(jing)樓,該樓當(dang)時(shi)收藏明、清版本經(jing)卷720余(yu)部,以及(ji)大(da)量珍(zhen)貴文物。竹溪寺(si)(si)自建成、開光以來,寺(si)(si)內(nei)(nei)香火不斷,每逢農歷四月初八廟會(hui)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)日(ri),寺(si)(si)內(nei)(nei)大(da)開道(dao)場,寺(si)(si)外(wai)搭臺唱戲(xi),焚香進供者絡繹不絕,前來逛廟者人(ren)山(shan)人(ren)海(hai),三(san)(san)天(tian)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)廟會(hui),熱鬧非常。每逢農歷,還(huan)舉(ju)行盂蘭盆會(hui)儀式,備(bei)百味(wei)飲(yin)食,供養(yang)十方(fang)僧眾,放焰口,廟里(li)廟外(wai),非常隆重。

建設沿革

寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)內歷史永歷五(wu)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)1651沈(shen)光文遇(yu)颶風(feng)漂流至臺灣(wan),初播中國文化。十(shi)五(wu)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)延(yan)(yan)王鄭成功率軍(jun)渡臺驅(qu)逐紅毛為(wei)(wei)(wei)復明(ming)基地,經置東(dong)都,設(she)承(cheng)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)府并天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)興(xing)、萬年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)兩(liang)縣治理。十(shi)八(ba)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)嗣王鄭經 放棄金、廈回臺,改(gai)東(dong)都為(wei)(wei)(wei)東(dong)寧(ning),升天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)興(xing)、萬年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)二(er)縣為(wei)(wei)(wei)二(er)州,裁承(cheng)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)府。是時經州守倡建梵(fan)宮于(yu)(yu)南(nan)郊南(nan)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)之(zhi)(zhi)旁,顏曰小西天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)。此(ci)時有沈(shen)光文所(suo)詠(yong)詩題︰州守新(xin)構(gou)僧舍(she)于(yu)(yu)南(nan)溪(xi)(xi)(xi),人(ren)多(duo)往游(you),余未(wei)及也。可(ke)以證(zheng)(zheng)明(ming)。沈(shen)氏(shi)窗蝴詩不(bu)(bu)久因(yin)寓諷鄭經之(zhi)(zhi)賦(fu)被才(cai),幾罹(li)不(bu)(bu)測(ce),經變服(fu)入山為(wei)(wei)(wei)僧,故小西天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)系在二(er)縣升州之(zhi)(zhi)后(hou)(hou),沈(shen)氏(shi)逃(tao)禪之(zhi)(zhi)前,亦即(ji)在十(shi)八(ba)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)末,或(huo)十(shi)九年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)初所(suo)建,乃臺島較早(zao)興(xing)建之(zhi)(zhi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)院。嗣因(yin)南(nan)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)沿(yan)畔綠竹(zhu)成蔭,風(feng)景(jing)宜人(ren),另名(ming)(ming)竹(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi),因(yin)是寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)名(ming)(ming)亦隨之(zhi)(zhi)稱為(wei)(wei)(wei)竹(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)。臺灣(wan)史學(xue)家盧嘉(jia)興(xing)考證(zheng)(zheng),竹(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)為(wei)(wei)(wei)臺灣(wan)第一座寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)院。據(ju)其(qi)考正結果,臺灣(wan)建于(yu)(yu)明(ming)朝時期的(de)三座佛寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)中,較早(zao)的(de)為(wei)(wei)(wei)竹(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si),次為(wei)(wei)(wei)彌(mi)陀寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si),再(zai)次為(wei)(wei)(wei)龍(long)湖巖。竹(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)因(yin)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)代久遠,于(yu)(yu)乾隆五(wu)十(shi)四年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)1789經里人(ren)蔡和生(sheng)倡修(xiu)(xiu),嘉(jia)慶(qing)元年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)1796黃鐘岳等再(zai)募捐重修(xiu)(xiu),嘉(jia)慶(qing)二(er)十(shi)三年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)董事劉延(yan)(yan)貴復修(xiu)(xiu),光緒十(shi)二(er)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)1886候(hou)通(tong)判鮑復康再(zai)重修(xiu)(xiu)一次。日據(ju)時代上(shang)(shang)(shang)官玄、林神等人(ren)見寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)宇(yu)(yu)破(po)(po)損(sun),殿(dian)閣(ge)荒無,決心聘一住(zhu)持整頓。日據(ju)時代上(shang)(shang)(shang)官玄、林神等人(ren)見寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)宇(yu)(yu)破(po)(po)損(sun),殿(dian)閣(ge)荒蕪,決心聘一住(zhu)持整頓。竹(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)民間相傳(chuan),人(ren)死后(hou)(hou)魂(hun)魄要先到寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)廟報到,接受(shou)初審,根(gen)據(ju)其(qi)生(sheng)前善(shan)惡功過,決定上(shang)(shang)(shang)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)堂(tang)或(huo)下地獄(yu),因(yin)此(ci)對寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)廟里的(de)祖(zu)師爺甚為(wei)(wei)(wei)敬(jing)畏;由于(yu)(yu)祖(zu)師爺對于(yu)(yu)轄區百姓行(xing)(xing)止瞭若(ruo)指(zhi)掌,遇(yu)有親人(ren)行(xing)(xing)蹤不(bu)(bu)明(ming),每(mei)(mei)每(mei)(mei)到此(ci)求簽(qian)問卜。每(mei)(mei)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)農(nong)歷3月3日祖(zu)師爺誕(dan)辰(chen),祖(zu)師爺按例于(yu)(yu)誕(dan)辰(chen)前夜行(xing)(xing)轄境,探訪(fang)民情。竹(zhu)溪(xi)(xi)(xi)寺(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)(si)廟成為(wei)(wei)(wei)每(mei)(mei)年(nian)(nian)(nian)(nian)度(du)熱鬧的(de)就(jiu)是廟會(hui)。

每當到(dao)(dao)了(le)竹溪寺院,感(gan)(gan)(gan)受到(dao)(dao)一份超塵(chen)的(de)(de)(de)(de)清(qing)凈(jing)與(yu)安祥,生(sheng)起(qi)了(le)一份莊嚴與(yu)寧靜的(de)(de)(de)(de)心,令(ling)人(ren)(ren)自然(ran)(ran)而(er)(er)然(ran)(ran)的(de)(de)(de)(de)想(xiang)進(jin)(jin)入大(da)殿,禮(li)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)三(san)拜,表(biao)達(da)對(dui)諸佛(fo)(fo)(fo)菩薩的(de)(de)(de)(de)禮(li)敬(jing)、感(gan)(gan)(gan)恩(en),而(er)(er)從(cong)柔軟、徐緩而(er)(er)安詳的(de)(de)(de)(de)彎腰(yao)禮(li)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)動作里,感(gan)(gan)(gan)受到(dao)(dao)禮(li)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)者的(de)(de)(de)(de)安定(ding)與(yu)謙(qian)卑。不解佛(fo)(fo)(fo)教的(de)(de)(de)(de)人(ren)(ren),認為(wei)拜佛(fo)(fo)(fo)就(jiu)是(shi)(shi)(shi)迷信(xin)、崇拜偶像。事實上,佛(fo)(fo)(fo)教是(shi)(shi)(shi)透過拜佛(fo)(fo)(fo)的(de)(de)(de)(de)動作,禮(li)敬(jing)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)菩薩,表(biao)達(da)對(dui)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)、法、僧三(san)寶的(de)(de)(de)(de)尊敬(jing)與(yu)感(gan)(gan)(gan)恩(en);同時(shi),拜佛(fo)(fo)(fo)也(ye)可同時(shi)懺(chan)悔自己(ji)(ji)所造的(de)(de)(de)(de)惡業。所以(yi)(yi),拜佛(fo)(fo)(fo)是(shi)(shi)(shi)每一位佛(fo)(fo)(fo)教徒首(shou)先(xian)要(yao)學習(xi)的(de)(de)(de)(de)宗教儀(yi)式。拜佛(fo)(fo)(fo)的(de)(de)(de)(de)動作,是(shi)(shi)(shi)心誠(cheng)意(yi)(yi)敬(jing)的(de)(de)(de)(de)將(jiang)雙手(shou)(shou)合(he)掌,低頭(tou)彎腰(yao),五(wu)體(ti)投地(di)(di)(di)-兩肘兩膝(xi)以(yi)(yi)及額頭(tou)著地(di)(di)(di),完成頭(tou)面接觸(chu)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)足(zu)的(de)(de)(de)(de)較高敬(jing)禮(li),故(gu)又稱為(wei)頂禮(li)。彎腰(yao)低頭(tou)表(biao)示謙(qian)虛,承認自己(ji)(ji)的(de)(de)(de)(de)福德(de)智慧不足(zu),而(er)(er)當五(wu)體(ti)投地(di)(di)(di),接觸(chu)到(dao)(dao)大(da)地(di)(di)(di)時(shi),則令(ling)人(ren)(ren)感(gan)(gan)(gan)動于大(da)地(di)(di)(di)孕育(yu)眾生(sheng),負載眾生(sheng),涵容(rong)一切(qie)的(de)(de)(de)(de)精神(shen),所以(yi)(yi),能懷著感(gan)(gan)(gan)恩(en)心,以(yi)(yi)飲水思源(yuan)的(de)(de)(de)(de)心,感(gan)(gan)(gan)謝大(da)地(di)(di)(di),感(gan)(gan)(gan)謝一切(qie)眾生(sheng)。而(er)(er)從(cong)拜佛(fo)(fo)(fo)的(de)(de)(de)(de)動作,讓人(ren)(ren)連想(xiang)到(dao)(dao),當人(ren)(ren)的(de)(de)(de)(de)內(nei)心充滿(man)(man)了(le)禮(li)敬(jing)、感(gan)(gan)(gan)恩(en)與(yu)懺(chan)悔時(shi),也(ye)有如稻穗一樣(yang)的(de)(de)(de)(de),因(yin)成熟而(er)(er)下垂;而(er)(er)拜佛(fo)(fo)(fo)的(de)(de)(de)(de)意(yi)(yi)義(yi),也(ye)就(jiu)是(shi)(shi)(shi)如此了(le)。信(xin)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)的(de)(de)(de)(de)人(ren)(ren)越來越多,每年(nian)春節(jie)及農(nong)歷初一、十(shi)(shi)五(wu)等日期,廣大(da)民眾有到(dao)(dao)竹溪燒(shao)香禮(li)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)、祈(qi)(qi)(qi)福求(qiu)安的(de)(de)(de)(de)習(xi)慣。旅(lv)游(you)途中(zhong)參觀名寺大(da)剎,燒(shao)香拜佛(fo)(fo)(fo)也(ye)是(shi)(shi)(shi)很正常的(de)(de)(de)(de),但是(shi)(shi)(shi),很多人(ren)(ren)并不知道(dao)(dao)如何(he)燒(shao)香拜佛(fo)(fo)(fo),為(wei)使十(shi)(shi)方善(shan)信(xin)種植福田、廣獲法益(yi)、正善(shan)正行(xing),以(yi)(yi)滿(man)(man)所愿,以(yi)(yi)祈(qi)(qi)(qi)共沾法益(yi)。寺廟建筑都有許多道(dao)(dao)門(men)(men)(men),從(cong)哪一道(dao)(dao)門(men)(men)(men)進(jin)(jin)入都有講究的(de)(de)(de)(de)。據說(shuo)只(zhi)有開了(le)光的(de)(de)(de)(de)寺廟才(cai)(cai)有資(zi)格修十(shi)(shi)三(san)道(dao)(dao)門(men)(men)(men)。正中(zhong)間(jian)的(de)(de)(de)(de)三(san)道(dao)(dao)門(men)(men)(men),才(cai)(cai)是(shi)(shi)(shi)供人(ren)(ren)出(chu)入的(de)(de)(de)(de)。普通(tong)游(you)客,進(jin)(jin)門(men)(men)(men)只(zhi)能走右(you)(you)邊(bian)的(de)(de)(de)(de)那道(dao)(dao)門(men)(men)(men),中(zhong)間(jian)那道(dao)(dao)門(men)(men)(men)叫空門(men)(men)(men),只(zhi)有出(chu)家人(ren)(ren)才(cai)(cai)可以(yi)(yi)出(chu)入的(de)(de)(de)(de)。進(jin)(jin)門(men)(men)(men)時(shi),男客先(xian)邁(mai)左腳,女客先(xian)邁(mai)右(you)(you)腳,而(er)(er)且這步子,需邁(mai)得(de)越大(da)越好。同時(shi)進(jin)(jin)廟內(nei)殿宇時(shi)應遵循(xun)左門(men)(men)(men)進(jin)(jin)右(you)(you)門(men)(men)(men)出(chu)的(de)(de)(de)(de)原則。注(zhu)意(yi)(yi):一定(ding)不能踩踏在門(men)(men)(men)檻(jian)(據說(shuo)門(men)(men)(men)檻(jian)代表(biao)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)祖的(de)(de)(de)(de)肩膀,當然(ran)(ran)不能踩踏)之上。而(er)(er)登臨第1和(he)(he)第6個(ge)臺階(jie)的(de)(de)(de)(de)行(xing)禮(li)意(yi)(yi)味著一心一意(yi)(yi)和(he)(he)六六大(da)順的(de)(de)(de)(de)含義(yi)。禮(li)佛(fo)(fo)(fo)前(qian),先(xian)要(yao)凈(jing)(洗)手(shou)(shou)。香不能叫買(mai)而(er)(er)應該叫請。普通(tong)人(ren)(ren)敬(jing)香要(yao)用左手(shou)(shou)持(據說(shuo)右(you)(you)手(shou)(shou)不凈(jing),普通(tong)人(ren)(ren)殺生(sheng)大(da)多用右(you)(you)手(shou)(shou),三(san)炷為(wei)自己(ji)(ji)祈(qi)(qi)(qi)福,六炷為(wei)兩輩人(ren)(ren)祈(qi)(qi)(qi)福,九炷為(wei)三(san)代人(ren)(ren)祈(qi)(qi)(qi)福。而(er)(er)十(shi)(shi)三(san)是(shi)(shi)(shi)一個(ge)極致,十(shi)(shi)三(san)炷香就(jiu)是(shi)(shi)(shi)功(gong)德(de)圓滿(man)(man)的(de)(de)(de)(de)高香。先(xian)燒(shao)香再叩頭(tou)。
