共工(gong)怒觸不周(zhou)山(shan)是(shi)一個著名的(de)(de)上古神話傳(chuan)說(shuo)。又名共工(gong)觸山(shan),且與女(nv)媧補天(tian)、后羿射日、嫦娥奔月并(bing)稱中國古代(dai)著名的(de)(de)四大神話。
共工(gong)(gong),又稱共工(gong)(gong)氏(shi),是中國(guo)古代神話中的水(shui)(shui)神,掌(zhang)控(kong)洪水(shui)(shui)。在(zai)西晉張湛《列(lie)子·湯問》中記載,傳說共工(gong)(gong)素來(lai)與(yu)顓頊不合(he),發(fa)生驚天動地(di)的大戰,最后以共工(gong)(gong)失敗而憤怒地(di)撞上不周山而告終。
另一個版本:共工制定了(le)水利工程(cheng)計劃,顓(zhuan)頊不支持,顓(zhuan)頊與共工之間發生了(le)大戰(zhan),共工不能得到民眾的支持,他(ta)決心撞斷不周(zhou)山,以示決心。
這一傳說反映了遠古部族間的斗(dou)爭,同時涉及到古代天文學上的“蓋天說”。
共(gong)工,炎(yan)(yan)(yan)帝(di)裔(yi)。據《山海經·海內經》:“炎(yan)(yan)(yan)帝(di)之妻(qi)、赤水之子(zi)聽(ting)訞(yao)(yāo)生(sheng)炎(yan)(yan)(yan)居,炎(yan)(yan)(yan)居生(sheng)節(jie)并(bing),節(jie)并(bing)生(sheng)戲(xi)器,戲(xi)器生(sheng)祝(zhu)融,祝(zhu)融降(jiang)處于(yu)江水,生(sheng)共(gong)工。“
《路史·后紀二》注(zhu)引《歸藏·啟筮》:“共工人面蛇身朱發。”
相傳共工為水(shui)(shui)神。《左(zuo)傳·昭(zhao)公十七年》:“共工氏以(yi)水(shui)(shui)紀(ji),故為水(shui)(shui)師而水(shui)(shui)名。
《管子·揆度》:“共工之王,水處什工與顓(zhuan)頊(xu)之戰。
《淮(huai)南子·天(tian)文訓》:“昔者(zhe)共工與顓頊爭(zheng)為帝,怒而(er)觸不周之山(shan),天(tian)柱折,地維絕,天(tian)傾西北(bei),故日月星辰移焉(yan)(yan);地不滿東南,故水潦塵埃歸焉(yan)(yan)。”
此戰(zhan)又或(huo)傳(chuan)為共(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)與高辛(《淮南子·原道》),神農(《雕玉(yu)集(ji)·壯力》),祝融(《史(shi)記·補(bu)(bu)三(san)皇本紀(ji)》),女媧(wa)(《路史(shi)·太吳紀(ji)》)之(zhi)爭。其他如(ru)禹(yu)逐共(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong),禹(yu)殺共(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)之(zhi)臣相(xiang)柳等傳(chuan)說,由禹(yu)為黃帝系(xi)統人(ren)物,當(dang)亦系(xi)黃炎戰(zhan)爭之(zhi)余緒(xu)。今河南杞(qi)縣流傳(chuan)的“女媧(wa)補(bu)(bu)天”傳(chuan)說則謂:共(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)、祝融、女媧(wa)、棺人(ren)為兄妹。共(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)與祝融因吃(chi)天鵝(e)蛋(dan)相(xiang)爭,共(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)怒觸不周山,天塌(ta)洪(hong)水泛濫,女媧(wa)乃有補(bu)(bu)天之(zhi)舉(ju),似更原始。
《史記·補三皇本紀(ji)》:“諸侯有共(gong)工氏,任智刑以強霸(ba)而(er)不王;以水乘木,乃(nai)與祝(zhu)融戰(zhan)。不勝(sheng)而(er)怒(nu),乃(nai)頭(tou)觸(chu)不周(zhou)山崩,天柱折,地維(wei)絕。”此戰(zhan)或又傳說(shuo)為顓(zhuan)頊,神農,女媧,高辛與共(gong)工之爭。
《國語·魯語上(shang)》載(zai):“共(gong)(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)氏(shi)之(zhi)伯(bo)九(jiu)(jiu)有(you)。”“伯(bo)九(jiu)(jiu)有(you)”也就是(shi)(shi)霸(ba)九(jiu)(jiu)州(zhou)。實際上(shang)是(shi)(shi)說(shuo)(shuo)共(gong)(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)氏(shi)一(yi)度是(shi)(shi)九(jiu)(jiu)州(zhou)的(de)伯(bo)(霸(ba))主(zhu),即中(zhong)原部(bu)落聯盟的(de)一(yi)個首(shou)領(ling)。這(zhe)反映(ying)了九(jiu)(jiu)個氏(shi)族住在九(jiu)(jiu)個地(di)(di)方,共(gong)(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)氏(shi)在其中(zhong)居(ju)于首(shou)要地(di)(di)位。徐旭生(sheng)說(shuo)(shuo)共(gong)(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)氏(shi)居(ju)住地(di)(di)在今河(he)南省(sheng)輝(hui)縣(xian)。郭沫若說(shuo)(shuo):共(gong)(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)氏(shi)長期(qi)活(huo)動的(de)地(di)(di)方是(shi)(shi)今河(he)南西部(bu)的(de)伊(yi)水(shui)和洛(luo)水(shui)流域(yu)。這(zhe)個地(di)(di)方古(gu)代(dai)稱為(wei)九(jiu)(jiu)州(zhou),可能來源于共(gong)(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)氏(shi)的(de)九(jiu)(jiu)個氏(shi)。后來,這(zhe)里往西的(de)山(shan)區(qu)中(zhong)還有(you)九(jiu)(jiu)州(zhou)之(zhi)戎,大概是(shi)(shi)共(gong)(gong)(gong)工(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)氏(shi)的(de)余部(bu)延續下來的(de)。
共(gong)(gong)工(gong)是古(gu)代傳(chuan)說(shuo)中(zhong)神農氏的后代,屬于炎帝(di)一(yi)族,身為水神,共(gong)(gong)工(gong)有人的面孔、手足和(he)蛇(she)的身體。在黃帝(di)的繼(ji)承人顓(zhuan)頊治(zhi)世(shi)(shi)的時代反叛,被(bei)顓(zhuan)頊擊(ji)敗(bai),共(gong)(gong)工(gong)怒而(er)頭撞不周山(shan)(傳(chuan)說(shuo)中(zhong)支撐世(shi)(shi)界(jie)的支柱),造(zao)成(cheng)世(shi)(shi)界(jie)向西北傾(qing)斜。之后共(gong)(gong)工(gong)仍不斷地作亂(代表洪水的爆發(fa)),最(zui)后被(bei)禹殺死(指治(zhi)水成(cheng)功(gong))。
《淮南子·天文訓》:“昔者共(gong)工(gong)與顓頊爭為帝,怒而觸不周之山,天柱折,地維絕。天傾西北(bei),故日月星辰(chen)移(yi)焉;地不滿東(dong)南,故水潦塵埃歸焉。”
意(yi)思是:從前,共工與顓(zhuan)頊(xu)爭奪(duo)為帝,失(shi)敗了,于(yu)是共工發怒(用(yong)頭(tou))去撞不周山,支撐天的柱子折(zhe)了,系掛地的繩(sheng)子斷了。天向西北方向傾斜,所以太陽、月亮、星星都朝西北方移動;地的東(dong)(dong)南(nan)角(jiao)陷塌(ta)了,所以江湖流(liu)水都朝東(dong)(dong)南(nan)方向流(liu)去。
這則神話(hua)反映了遠古部族(zu)間的(de)斗爭同(tong)時涉及到古代天文學上的(de)“蓋(gai)天說”,來解(jie)釋“日月星辰都(dou)朝(chao)西北(bei)方(fang)移動”“江河泥沙都(dou)朝(chao)東南(nan)方(fang)向流去”的(de)現象。
《淮南(nan)子·天(tian)(tian)(tian)文訓》云(yun):昔(xi)者,共工與(yu)顓頊爭為(wei)帝,怒而(er)觸(chu)不(bu)周(zhou)之山,天(tian)(tian)(tian)柱(zhu)折,地維絕。天(tian)(tian)(tian)傾西北,故日月星辰移焉;地不(bu)滿東南(nan),故水潦塵埃歸(gui)焉。
這里記載的故(gu)(gu)事是(shi)(shi)顓(zhuan)頊與共工(gong)爭帝位而(er)戰,那么時(shi)間就是(shi)(shi)顓(zhuan)頊時(shi)期(qi),據說也就是(shi)(shi)因為這樣(yang),才有女媧補(bu)天的故(gu)(gu)事。
依據《山(shan)海經》記載(zai),共工為(wei)炎(yan)帝后裔。《史記·補三皇本紀》云:諸侯有共工氏,任智刑以(yi)(yi)強霸而(er)不王(wang);以(yi)(yi)水乘木,乃與祝融戰。不勝而(er)怒,乃頭觸不周(zhou)山(shan)崩,天柱折(zhe),地維缺。
霸(ba)道(dao)的共工,又和(he)祝融打起來(lai)了。傳說祝融為顓(zhuan)頊帝(di)孫重黎,高(gao)辛氏火正之官,黃帝(di)賜他姓“祝融氏”。

盤(pan)古開(kai)(kai)天(tian)辟地女媧(wa)造人之(zhi)后,水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)神(shen)(shen)共(gong)(gong)(gong)工一向與火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)神(shen)(shen)祝(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)融不(bu)(bu)合,他向火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)神(shen)(shen)發(fa)動進攻。擔當先鋒的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)大(da)(da)將(jiang)相柳、浮游(you),猛撲火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)神(shen)(shen)祝(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)融氏(shi)居住(zhu)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)光明(ming)宮(gong),把光明(ming)宮(gong)四周(zhou)長(chang)年不(bu)(bu)熄的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)神(shen)(shen)火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)弄(nong)滅(mie)了(le)(le)。大(da)(da)地頓時(shi)一片漆黑(hei)。火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)神(shen)(shen)祝(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)融駕著遍身冒(mao)著烈(lie)焰的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)龍出來(lai)迎戰(zhan)。所到之(zhi)處,云霧(wu)廓清,雨水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)齊(qi)收;黑(hei)暗悄悄退(tui)去(qu)(qu),大(da)(da)地重(zhong)現(xian)光明(ming)。水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)神(shen)(shen)共(gong)(gong)(gong)工惱(nao)羞成怒,命令相柳和浮游(you)將(jiang)三江五海(hai)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)汲上(shang)來(lai),往祝(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)融他們那里(li)傾(qing)去(qu)(qu)。剎時(shi)間長(chang)空(kong)中濁浪(lang)飛(fei)瀉(xie),黑(hei)濤(tao)翻騰,白云被淹沒,神(shen)(shen)火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)又(you)(you)被澆熄了(le)(le)。可是(shi)(shi)大(da)(da)水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)一退(tui),神(shen)(shen)火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)又(you)(you)燒了(le)(le)起(qi)來(lai),加(jia)上(shang)祝(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)融請來(lai)風神(shen)(shen)幫忙(mang),風助(zhu)火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)威,火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)乘風勢,熾熾烈(lie)烈(lie)地直(zhi)撲共(gong)(gong)(gong)工。共(gong)(gong)(gong)工他們想留(liu)住(zhu)大(da)(da)水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)來(lai)御火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo),可是(shi)(shi)水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)瀉(xie)千里(li),哪(na)里(li)留(liu)得(de)(de)住(zhu)。火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)焰又(you)(you)長(chang)舌般地卷來(lai),共(gong)(gong)(gong)工他們被燒得(de)(de)焦頭爛額,東倒西歪。共(gong)(gong)(gong)工率(lv)領水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)軍且(qie)戰(zhan)且(qie)退(tui),逃(tao)(tao)回(hui)(hui)大(da)(da)海(hai)。他滿以(yi)為祝(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)融遇到大(da)(da)水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui),肯定會知(zhi)難而退(tui)。因此立在(zai)水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)宮(gong),得(de)(de)意起(qi)來(lai)。不(bu)(bu)料(liao)祝(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)融這(zhe)次下了(le)(le)必(bi)勝的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)決心,他全速追擊。火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)龍所到之(zhi)處,海(hai)水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)不(bu)(bu)由(you)滾滾向兩(liang)旁(pang)翻轉,讓開(kai)(kai)了(le)(le)一條大(da)(da)路(lu)。祝(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)融直(zhi)逼水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)宮(gong),水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)神(shen)(shen)共(gong)(gong)(gong)工他們只好硬著頭皮(pi)出來(lai)迎戰(zhan)。代表光明(ming)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)神(shen)(shen)祝(zhu)(zhu)(zhu)融獲得(de)(de)了(le)(le)全勝。浮游(you)活活氣死,相柳逃(tao)(tao)之(zhi)夭夭,共(gong)(gong)(gong)工心力交瘁,無法再(zai)戰(zhan),狼狽地向天(tian)邊逃(tao)(tao)去(qu)(qu)。共(gong)(gong)(gong)工一直(zhi)逃(tao)(tao)到不(bu)(bu)周(zhou)山(shan),回(hui)(hui)頭一看,追兵(bing)已近。共(gong)(gong)(gong)工又(you)(you)羞又(you)(you)憤(fen),就一頭向山(shan)腰撞去(qu)(qu),“嘩啦啦”一聲巨響(xiang),不(bu)(bu)周(zhou)山(shan)竟給(gei)共(gong)(gong)(gong)工撞折(zhe)了(le)(le)。不(bu)(bu)周(zhou)山(shan)一倒,大(da)(da)災難降(jiang)臨了(le)(le)。原來(lai)不(bu)(bu)周(zhou)山(shan)是(shi)(shi)根撐天(tian)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)大(da)(da)柱,柱子一斷,半(ban)邊天(tian)空(kong)就坍(tan)塌(ta)下來(lai),露出石骨嶙峋的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)大(da)(da)窟窿,頓時(shi)天(tian)河傾(qing)瀉(xie),洪水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)泛濫。著名(ming)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)“水(shui)(shui)(shui)(shui)火(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)(huo)不(bu)(bu)相容(rong)”典故即源(yuan)于(yu)這(zhe)場大(da)(da)戰(zhan)。后來(lai)才(cai)有了(le)(le)女媧(wa)煉五彩石補天(tian)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)事跡,大(da)(da)地重(zhong)回(hui)(hui)正常(chang)。
水(shui)神(shen)(shen)共(gong)工氏和(he)火(huo)神(shen)(shen)祝融(rong)氏的(de)(de)(de)(de)這(zhe)(zhe)場(chang)大(da)(da)戰,皆因“水(shui)火(huo)不相容”而發(fa)生,一方面說明了水(shui)火(huo)相克的(de)(de)(de)(de)原理,即水(shui)火(huo)天(tian)生不睦;另一方面說明了有(you)(you)些事(shi)物是自(zi)然(ran)界的(de)(de)(de)(de)基(ji)本(ben)(ben)本(ben)(ben)能,非人(ren)力所(suo)能干擾。縱(zong)觀遠古時(shi)代水(shui)神(shen)(shen)和(he)火(huo)神(shen)(shen)的(de)(de)(de)(de)這(zhe)(zhe)場(chang)驚天(tian)動地的(de)(de)(de)(de)大(da)(da)戰,沒有(you)(you)什么所(suo)謂正義和(he)公理,只有(you)(you)大(da)(da)自(zi)然(ran)的(de)(de)(de)(de)力量在搏擊。而敗陣(zhen)的(de)(de)(de)(de)水(shui)神(shen)(shen)共(gong)工因惱怒去(qu)撞不周山(shan),女媧補天(tian)算是拯救了自(zi)然(ran)世界。
伏羲時期,在(zai)華夏有一(yi)(yi)個(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)長(chang)于耍陰謀(mou)詭(gui)計(ji)的(de)部族叫(jiao)做共工(gong)(gong)氏(shi)(shi)。共工(gong)(gong)氏(shi)(shi)在(zai)天上對應著一(yi)(yi)個(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)壞(huai)水神,叫(jiao)共工(gong)(gong),它人面蛇身,有紅色的(de)頭(tou)發(fa),性(xing)(xing)情(qing)十分兇惡(e),嗜殺成性(xing)(xing)。共工(gong)(gong)手下有兩個(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)惡(e)名昭(zhao)彰的(de)惡(e)神:一(yi)(yi)個(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)是(shi)長(chang)著九個(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)腦(nao)袋(dai)的(de)相柳,它也是(shi)人面蛇身,全身青色,性(xing)(xing)情(qing)殘(can)酷貪婪,專(zhuan)以殺戮為樂;另一(yi)(yi)個(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)是(shi)長(chang)的(de)兇神惡(e)煞一(yi)(yi)般的(de)浮游(you),也是(shi)一(yi)(yi)個(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)(ge)作惡(e)多端的(de)家伙。
共(gong)工(gong)氏(shi)的(de)(de)人說話好聽的(de)(de)很,天(tian)花亂墜,但做起事(shi)來邪僻,表面上(shang)恭(gong)敬,實際上(shang)無(wu)法無(wu)天(tian)。共(gong)工(gong)氏(shi)的(de)(de)頭(tou)子叫康(kang)回,生的(de)(de)髦身(shen)朱發,鐵(tie)臂(bei)虬筋,身(shen)高一丈(zhang)有余,力(li)大(da)無(wu)窮。康(kang)回為(wei)人表面恭(gong)敬但內(nei)心狡(jiao)詐,陰謀百(bai)(bai)出,只(zhi)是礙(ai)于伏羲的(de)(de)大(da)威大(da)德而暫時(shi)隱忍為(wei)上(shang)。伏羲離去后,華(hua)(hua)夏(xia)(xia)之民尊奉(feng)女媧,康(kang)回因(yin)此嫉恨,倚仗自(zi)己封(feng)地的(de)(de)地勢高險(xian),決(jue)滔天(tian)洪水(shui)危害(hai)中原,致使(shi)華(hua)(hua)夏(xia)(xia)天(tian)地間一片汪洋。女媧忍無(wu)可忍,決(jue)定引領華(hua)(hua)夏(xia)(xia)之民鏟除共(gong)工(gong)。華(hua)(hua)夏(xia)(xia)堯帝時(shi)期,天(tian)下洪水(shui)泛濫,在鯀治水(shui)不(bu)成功(gong)的(de)(de)情況下,堯派鯀的(de)(de)兒(er)子禹(yu)(yu)去治理洪水(shui)。大(da)禹(yu)(yu)領著百(bai)(bai)姓治水(shui),一直將黃河治理到邙山東頭(tou),再向東的(de)(de)河道(dao)就不(bu)好治了,因(yin)為(wei)有共(gong)工(gong)在作(zuo)怪搗(dao)亂。
顓頊(xu)(xu)(xu)帝(di)為(wei)華(hua)夏上古時期五帝(di)(黃帝(di)、顓頊(xu)(xu)(xu)、帝(di)嚳、唐(tang)堯、虞舜(shun))之一(yi),被稱為(wei)北方(fang)水德(de)(de)之帝(di)。顓頊(xu)(xu)(xu)帝(di)為(wei)人仁德(de)(de)、智(zhi)慧,當(dang)時世,四方(fang)慕德(de)(de)而服,鳥(niao)獸盡皆感化。顓頊(xu)(xu)(xu)帝(di)自幼(you)受(shou)叔父(fu)少昊的熏陶(tao),特別愛(ai)好(hao)音(yin)樂(le)。當(dang)他(ta)聽(ting)到(dao)八方(fang)來風(feng)掠(lve)過大(da)地(di)發出熙熙凄凄鏘鏘的聲音(yin)時,感覺十(shi)分悅耳,便讓八條飛龍仿效風(feng)聲而長(chang)吟(yin),命名為(wei)《承云曲》,專門用來紀念黃帝(di)。他(ta)又突發異想,令揚(yang)子鱷(e)做音(yin)樂(le)的倡(chang)導者。揚(yang)子鱷(e)鳴聲如鼓(gu),背上披有堅(jian)厚的鱗甲,成天躺在池沼底(di)部的洞(dong)穴內睡覺,對音(yin)樂(le)向來生疏。但(dan)它(ta)接令后不(bu)敢怠慢,立(li)刻翻轉笨重的身軀仰臥,揮動粗大(da)的尾(wei)巴敲打鼓(gu)凸的灰肚皮(pi),發出的聲音(yin)果然嘹(liao)亮(liang)。人間受(shou)到(dao)顓頊(xu)(xu)(xu)帝(di)的影響,用揚(yang)子鱷(e)的皮(pi)來蒙鼓(gu)。這(zhe)種(zhong)鼓(gu)十(shi)分貴重,叫鼉(tuo)鼓(gu)。
顓頊(xu)帝(di)時(shi)期,人們(men)的(de)(de)道(dao)德(de)已經(jing)發生了變化。顓頊(xu)帝(di)直屬(shu)的(de)(de)北方(fang)三(san)十六州(zhou)道(dao)德(de)高尚,而(er)(er)其他(ta)地方(fang)道(dao)德(de)已經(jing)衰微了。“君臣富貴皆由德(de)而(er)(er)生”,因此,原(yuan)本不停運(yun)轉的(de)(de)太陽、月(yue)亮和星(xing)(xing)星(xing)(xing)開始(shi)被(bei)牢牢拴在天(tian)(tian)(tian)穹(qiong)的(de)(de)北邊,固定在北方(fang)三(san)十六州(zhou)上空(kong)。上古時(shi)期,華(hua)夏(xia)之民敬(jing)神拜天(tian)(tian)(tian),因此就有很多人想象不到的(de)(de)福分。伏羲時(shi)期,天(tian)(tian)(tian)、地雖也分開,但距(ju)離較近,而(er)(er)且還有天(tian)(tian)(tian)梯(ti)相通(tong),這天(tian)(tian)(tian)梯(ti)即是(shi)各地的(de)(de)高山與大樹(shu)。天(tian)(tian)(tian)梯(ti)原(yuan)為神、仙、巫而(er)(er)設(she),但人間的(de)(de)智(zhi)者、勇士(shi),卻能憑著智(zhi)謀和勇敢(gan)攀登天(tian)(tian)(tian)梯(ti),直達天(tian)(tian)(tian)庭(ting)。那時(shi)候,凡人有了冤(yuan)苦之事,可(ke)以(yi)直接到天(tian)(tian)(tian)上去(qu)向天(tian)(tian)(tian)帝(di)申(shen)訴,神亦可(ke)以(yi)隨便至凡界(jie)游山玩水,人與神的(de)(de)界(jie)限不是(shi)很明確的(de)(de)。后(hou)來由于地上蚩尤叛亂,對神不敬(jing),擾(rao)亂天(tian)(tian)(tian)庭(ting)。為此顓頊(xu)帝(di)命令孫兒重(zhong)和黎去(qu)把天(tian)(tian)(tian)地的(de)(de)通(tong)路截(jie)斷(duan),以(yi)維持宇宙(zhou)秩序。
共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工是個壞水(shui)神(shen),性情兇狠,處事蠻橫,專與華(hua)(hua)夏之民(min)(min)作對。它經常在(zai)(zai)(zai)心(xin)(xin)血來潮時,施展神(shen)力(li),呼風(feng)喚雨(yu),用洪水(shui)傷害天下的百(bai)姓(xing),把一(yi)(yi)個好端端的華(hua)(hua)夏弄的一(yi)(yi)片汪洋。百(bai)姓(xing)們哭天叫(jiao)地,苦熬日月。大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)找到(dao)共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工,勸(quan)說其不(bu)(bu)要(yao)(yao)再呼風(feng)喚雨(yu),發(fa)洪水(shui)坑害百(bai)姓(xing),給(gei)華(hua)(hua)夏之民(min)(min)留條(tiao)生(sheng)路(lu),積(ji)些德行(xing)(xing)。共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工根本(ben)不(bu)(bu)聽(ting)大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)的好言相勸(quan),說:“我(wo)發(fa)我(wo)的水(shui),和你(ni)有(you)啥關系?”大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)不(bu)(bu)愿(yuan)再理(li)這號靈魂低劣之壞神(shen),只(zhi)好水(shui)里來,水(shui)里去,頂風(feng)冒(mao)雨(yu),察看(kan)地形,尋(xun)找黃(huang)河(he)向東的出路(lu)。共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工一(yi)(yi)看(kan)大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)一(yi)(yi)心(xin)(xin)要(yao)(yao)治住洪水(shui),疏(shu)導黃(huang)河(he),讓華(hua)(hua)夏之民(min)(min)過上正常的生(sheng)活,頓時火冒(mao)三丈,幾(ji)乎將自己的全部(bu)神(shen)力(li)都(dou)使了(le)(le)出來,中(zhong)原一(yi)(yi)帶的洪水(shui)于(yu)是四(si)處漫溢,到(dao)處橫流,洪水(shui)更大(da)(da)了(le)(le)。大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)東奔西跑,費盡了(le)(le)力(li)氣(qi),地上的水(shui)卻越(yue)聚越(yue)多,黃(huang)河(he)水(shui)也是四(si)處八方亂竄。有(you)共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工搗亂,黃(huang)河(he)沒法疏(shu)導,大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)忍無可忍,決心(xin)(xin)帶領華(hua)(hua)夏之民(min)(min)驅逐共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工。大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)把隨他治水(shui)的應龍(long)、黃(huang)龍(long)、白(bai)龍(long)、蒼龍(long)都(dou)叫(jiao)來,并鼓勵華(hua)(hua)夏之民(min)(min)一(yi)(yi)起出戰(zhan)。共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工由于(yu)四(si)處作惡(e),早就(jiu)聲名狼藉,百(bai)姓(xing)聽(ting)說大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)要(yao)(yao)趕(gan)(gan)走(zou)共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工,紛(fen)紛(fen)前來參戰(zhan)。大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)帶著大(da)(da)家在(zai)(zai)(zai)水(shui)中(zhong)攔住共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工,雙方廝殺(sha)起來。整整大(da)(da)戰(zhan)了(le)(le)一(yi)(yi)個月,大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)帶華(hua)(hua)夏之民(min)(min)輪流上陣。共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工漸漸疲憊不(bu)(bu)堪(kan),敗(bai)下陣后,倉(cang)惶而逃,大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)窮追不(bu)(bu)舍。共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工看(kan)著自己在(zai)(zai)(zai)劫難逃,便向大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)下跪,發(fa)誓永遠(yuan)不(bu)(bu)再侵犯華(hua)(hua)夏,再不(bu)(bu)發(fa)水(shui)行(xing)(xing)惡(e)了(le)(le)。大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)心(xin)(xin)一(yi)(yi)軟,放走(zou)了(le)(le)共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工。大(da)(da)禹(yu)(yu)(yu)率華(hua)(hua)夏之民(min)(min)趕(gan)(gan)走(zou)共(gong)(gong)(gong)(gong)工后,一(yi)(yi)鼓作氣(qi),把洪水(shui)排(pai)完(wan),又馬不(bu)(bu)停蹄地把黃(huang)河(he)疏(shu)導到(dao)東海,并用太行(xing)(xing)山的石頭,在(zai)(zai)(zai)黃(huang)河(he)兩邊筑起又高又厚(hou),十分(fen)堅固(gu)的堤岸。
大力神(shen)重(zhong)和黎(li)接(jie)旨,運足了力氣,一(yi)個兩手托(tuo)天(tian)(tian),一(yi)個雙掌按(an)地(di)(di)(di),吆(yao)喝一(yi)聲,一(yi)齊發力,托(tuo)天(tian)(tian)的(de)盡力往上舉,按(an)地(di)(di)(di)的(de)拼(pin)命向(xiang)下壓,天(tian)(tian)漸漸往上升,地(di)(di)(di)漸漸向(xiang)下沉,本來相隔不(bu)(bu)(bu)遠的(de)天(tian)(tian)地(di)(di)(di)就變(bian)成現(xian)在(zai)這樣,遙(yao)遙(yao)而不(bu)(bu)(bu)可及了,高山、大樹,再也起不(bu)(bu)(bu)到天(tian)(tian)梯的(de)作用了。從此,托(tuo)天(tian)(tian)的(de)重(zhong)為南正(zheng),專管天(tian)(tian)地(di)(di)(di)鬼神(shen)之事(shi);按(an)地(di)(di)(di)的(de)黎(li)為火正(zheng),專管人間之事(shi)。顓頊(xu)帝還(huan)制(zhi)定出各(ge)種禮儀制(zhi)度來維護社會道(dao)德(de),規(gui)定婦女(nv)在(zai)路上遇(yu)見男人必須先(xian)回避,不(bu)(bu)(bu)然(ran)要(yao)拉到十字大街(jie)上示眾,還(huan)規(gui)定兄妹不(bu)(bu)(bu)準(zhun)通婚,并讓百姓按(an)時祭祀祖先(xian)和天(tian)(tian)地(di)(di)(di)鬼神(shen)。顓頊(xu)帝的(de)為人道(dao)德(de)、智慧,使四(si)方(fang)慕德(de)而服(fu),鳥獸(shou)盡皆(jie)感化(hua)。
據《史(shi)記·五帝(di)本紀》記載,顓(zhuan)頊(xu)(xu)帝(di)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)轄區非常(chang)大,“北至(zhi)于(yu)幽靈,南至(zhi)于(yu)交阯(zhi),西(xi)至(zhi)于(yu)流沙,東至(zhi)于(yu)蟠木,動靜之物,大小(xiao)之神,日月所照,莫不(bu)(bu)(bu)砥屬。”但是(shi),林子大了,什么鳥都(dou)有(you)。顓(zhuan)頊(xu)(xu)帝(di)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)大德(de)智(zhi)慧,使(shi)善者從(cong)之,卻使(shi)邪(xie)惡(e)及無(wu)(wu)法(fa)無(wu)(wu)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)共(gong)工(gong)恨之,共(gong)工(gong)妒忌的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)簡直發了狂,便糾集一(yi)(yi)(yi)些同樣鼓吹無(wu)(wu)法(fa)無(wu)(wu)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)而(er)對顓(zhuan)頊(xu)(xu)帝(di)不(bu)(bu)(bu)滿的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)壞神組建(jian)成(cheng)一(yi)(yi)(yi)支軍(jun)(jun)隊,輕騎短(duan)刃,突襲天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)國京都(dou)。顓(zhuan)頊(xu)(xu)帝(di)聞變,泰然自若,一(yi)(yi)(yi)面點燃七十(shi)二(er)座(zuo)烽(feng)火臺(tai),大戰開始后(hou),顓(zhuan)頊(xu)(xu)帝(di)率軍(jun)(jun)將共(gong)工(gong)部眾從(cong)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)上(shang)(shang)(shang)追(zhui)逐到凡界,再從(cong)凡界廝殺(sha)到天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)上(shang)(shang)(shang),幾個(ge)回合(he)過去(qu)(qu)后(hou),顓(zhuan)頊(xu)(xu)帝(di)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)部眾越殺(sha)越多,長著兩個(ge)蜂(feng)窩腦袋的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)驕(jiao)蟲領毒蜂(feng)由(you)(you)平逢(feng)山(shan)趕至(zhi);共(gong)工(gong)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)部落被(bei)殺(sha)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)人(ren)仰馬翻,幾乎全軍(jun)(jun)覆沒(mei)。共(gong)工(gong)輾轉殺(sha)到西(xi)北方(fang)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)不(bu)(bu)(bu)周(zhou)山(shan)下(xia),身邊僅剩一(yi)(yi)(yi)十(shi)三騎。不(bu)(bu)(bu)周(zhou)山(shan)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)奇崛突兀,頂天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)立地,擋住了這伙賊寇的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)去(qu)(qu)路(lu)。這不(bu)(bu)(bu)周(zhou)山(shan)是(shi)一(yi)(yi)(yi)根撐(cheng)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)巨柱,是(shi)顓(zhuan)頊(xu)(xu)帝(di)維持宇(yu)宙秩序的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)主要(yao)憑藉之一(yi)(yi)(yi)。這時,顓(zhuan)頊(xu)(xu)帝(di)率軍(jun)(jun)從(cong)四面八方(fang)沖來(lai),喊殺(sha)聲、勸(quan)降聲驚天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)動地,天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)羅(luo)地網已經布成(cheng)。共(gong)工(gong)到死(si)還想(xiang)壞一(yi)(yi)(yi)把,不(bu)(bu)(bu)顧一(yi)(yi)(yi)切后(hou)果(guo)發泄怨恨,他(ta)向不(bu)(bu)(bu)周(zhou)山(shan)撞去(qu)(qu)。在(zai)(zai)轟隆隆、潑喇喇的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)巨響聲中,那撐(cheng)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)拄地的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)不(bu)(bu)(bu)周(zhou)山(shan)竟被(bei)它攔(lan)腰撞斷(duan),橫塌下(xia)來(lai)。天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)柱折(zhe)斷(duan)后(hou),整(zheng)個(ge)宇(yu)宙便隨之發生了大變動,西(xi)北的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)穹失去(qu)(qu)撐(cheng)持而(er)向下(xia)傾斜,使(shi)拴系在(zai)(zai)北方(fang)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)頂的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)太陽、月亮(liang)和星星在(zai)(zai)原來(lai)位(wei)置(zhi)上(shang)(shang)(shang)再也(ye)站(zhan)不(bu)(bu)(bu)住腳,身不(bu)(bu)(bu)由(you)(you)己的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)掙脫束縛,朝低斜的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)西(xi)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)滑去(qu)(qu),成(cheng)就了我們今(jin)天(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)(tian)所看見的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)日月星辰的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)運行路(lu)線。
不周山被撞斷后,天(tian)就塌下半(ban)邊(bian)來,還露(lu)出很多大窟窿;地(di)面也裂開(kai)了,出現一條條的(de)深(shen)坑裂縫(feng)。在天(tian)崩地(di)裂的(de)情況下,山林燃燒(shao)起熊熊大火,地(di)底噴出了滔(tao)滔(tao)洪水,周圍也竄出了各種兇猛(meng)野獸(shou),大地(di)就象一個(ge)人間地(di)獄。
天(tian)(tian)神女(nv)媧,看到自己創造(zao)出來的(de)人受到這樣的(de)苦難(nan),痛心極(ji)了。為了讓(rang)人們重(zhong)(zhong)新過(guo)上自然(ran)的(de)生(sheng)活,女(nv)媧決定去(qu)修(xiu)補(bu)殘破的(de)蒼天(tian)(tian)。這是一(yi)件極(ji)其困難(nan)繁雜的(de)工作,女(nv)媧先在江河(he)揀了許多五(wu)色石子(zi),又(you)(you)用大(da)火(huo)把石子(zi)燒了九天(tian)(tian)九夜,煉成(cheng)紅、黃、青、白、黑五(wu)色混和的(de)石漿,然(ran)后一(yi)勺(shao)一(yi)勺(shao)的(de)把石漿灌進天(tian)(tian)上的(de)窟窿,把崩裂的(de)地(di)方修(xiu)補(bu)好。隨之的(de)工作,便是要把天(tian)(tian)撐(cheng)起(qi)(qi)來。女(nv)媧用一(yi)只大(da)烏龜的(de)四只腳,用來代替天(tian)(tian)柱,豎立在大(da)地(di)的(de)四方,把天(tian)(tian)空象架帳篷(peng)似(si)的(de)撐(cheng)起(qi)(qi)來。柱子(zi)很(hen)結實,天(tian)(tian)空再(zai)也(ye)不會塌(ta)下來了。女(nv)媧又(you)(you)趕(gan)走了到處(chu)為患的(de)兇禽(qin)惡獸(shou),又(you)(you)用蘆草燒成(cheng)的(de)灰去(qu)填(tian)塞洪水。天(tian)(tian)補(bu)好了,地(di)也(ye)填(tian)平了,華(hua)夏之民又(you)(you)重(zhong)(zhong)新過(guo)上了自然(ran)幸福的(de)生(sheng)活。
相傳帝舜(shun)(shun)時期(qi)(約公(gong)元前22世紀),禹部(bu)落聯(lian)盟(meng)進(jin)(jin)攻共工(gong)氏(shi)部(bu)落聯(lian)盟(meng)(今(jin)河(he)南嵩縣北黃(huang)(huang)河(he)附近)的(de)作戰(zhan)。原始社會晚期(qi),中(zhong)原地(di)區生活(huo)著(zhu)黃(huang)(huang)帝族系的(de)部(bu)落聯(lian)盟(meng)(今(jin)山西南部(bu)),舜(shun)(shun)為首領。當時,黃(huang)(huang)河(he)經常泛濫成災,禍及人(ren)民,舜(shun)(shun)命禹治水(shui)。炎帝族系的(de)共工(gong)氏(shi)部(bu)落聯(lian)盟(meng),長(chang)期(qi)與(yu)舜(shun)(shun)領導(dao)的(de)部(bu)落聯(lian)盟(meng)爭(zheng)奪生存地(di)域,并為治水(shui)發(fa)生沖突。于是(shi),禹率領本部(bu)落聯(lian)盟(meng)進(jin)(jin)攻共工(gong)氏(shi),將其擊敗并驅離治水(shui)地(di)區,以便(bian)治水(shui)。從此(ci)共工(gong)氏(shi)再也無力與(yu)黃(huang)(huang)帝族系部(bu)落聯(lian)盟(meng)抗衡。
水(shui)神(shen)(shen)共(gong)(gong)工是炎帝(di)(di)的(de)(de)(de)(de)后裔,與黃帝(di)(di)家族本來(lai)就(jiu)(jiu)矛(mao)盾重(zhong)重(zhong)。帝(di)(di)顓(zhuan)頊接掌宇宙(zhou)統(tong)治(zhi)權(quan)后,不(bu)(bu)僅(jin)毫(hao)不(bu)(bu)顧惜(xi)人(ren)類,同時(shi)也用強權(quan)壓制其他(ta)(ta)派系(xi)的(de)(de)(de)(de)天(tian)(tian)(tian)神(shen)(shen),以至于(yu)天(tian)(tian)(tian)上人(ren)間,怨聲(sheng)鼎沸(fei)。共(gong)(gong)工見時(shi)機成(cheng)熟,約(yue)集心(xin)懷不(bu)(bu)滿的(de)(de)(de)(de)天(tian)(tian)(tian)神(shen)(shen)們,決心(xin)推翻帝(di)(di)顓(zhuan)頊的(de)(de)(de)(de)統(tong)治(zhi),奪取主宰神(shen)(shen)位。反(fan)叛的(de)(de)(de)(de)諸神(shen)(shen)推選共(gong)(gong)工為盟主,組建成(cheng)一(yi)支軍隊(dui),輕(qing)騎短刃,突襲(xi)天(tian)(tian)(tian)國京都。帝(di)(di)顓(zhuan)頊聞變,倒也不(bu)(bu)甚(shen)驚惶,他(ta)(ta)一(yi)面(mian)點燃(ran)七十二座烽火臺,召四方諸侯疾(ji)速支援(yuan);一(yi)面(mian)點齊護衛京畿的(de)(de)(de)(de)兵馬(ma),親自掛帥,前(qian)去(qu)迎戰。一(yi)場(chang)酷(ku)烈(lie)的(de)(de)(de)(de)戰斗展開了(le)(le)(le),兩(liang)(liang)股人(ren)馬(ma)從(cong)天(tian)(tian)(tian)上廝殺(sha)到(dao)凡(fan)界(jie),再從(cong)凡(fan)界(jie)廝殺(sha)到(dao)天(tian)(tian)(tian)上,幾個(ge)(ge)來(lai)回過(guo)去(qu),帝(di)(di)顓(zhuan)頊的(de)(de)(de)(de)部眾越殺(sha)越多,人(ren)形虎(hu)尾的(de)(de)(de)(de)泰逢(feng)駕萬(wan)道祥(xiang)光由和山(shan)(shan)(shan)趕(gan)至,龍頭人(ren)身(shen)的(de)(de)(de)(de)計蒙挾疾(ji)風驟雨由光山(shan)(shan)(shan)趕(gan)至,長著兩(liang)(liang)個(ge)(ge)蜂(feng)窩腦(nao)袋(dai)的(de)(de)(de)(de)驕蟲領(ling)毒(du)蜂(feng)毒(du)蝎由平逢(feng)山(shan)(shan)(shan)趕(gan)至;共(gong)(gong)工的(de)(de)(de)(de)部眾越殺(sha)越少,柜比的(de)(de)(de)(de)脖子(zi)(zi)被(bei)砍(kan)得只剩一(yi)層皮,披頭散發(fa),一(yi)只斷臂也不(bu)(bu)知丟到(dao)哪兒去(qu)了(le)(le)(le),王子(zi)(zi)夜(ye)的(de)(de)(de)(de)雙(shuang)手雙(shuang)腳、頭顱(lu)胸腹甚(shen)至牙齒全被(bei)砍(kan)斷,七零八落地(di)(di)散了(le)(le)(le)一(yi)地(di)(di)。共(gong)(gong)工輾轉殺(sha)到(dao)西(xi)北(bei)(bei)方的(de)(de)(de)(de)不(bu)(bu)周(zhou)(zhou)山(shan)(shan)(shan)下,身(shen)邊(bian)僅(jin)剩一(yi)十三騎。他(ta)(ta)舉目望去(qu),不(bu)(bu)周(zhou)(zhou)山(shan)(shan)(shan)奇崛(jue)突兀,頂天(tian)(tian)(tian)立地(di)(di),擋住了(le)(le)(le)去(qu)路(lu),他(ta)(ta)知道,此山(shan)(shan)(shan)其實是一(yi)根撐(cheng)天(tian)(tian)(tian)的(de)(de)(de)(de)巨柱,是帝(di)(di)顓(zhuan)頊維(wei)持宇宙(zhou)統(tong)治(zhi)的(de)(de)(de)(de)主要憑藉之一(yi)。身(shen)后,喊殺(sha)聲(sheng)、勸降聲(sheng)接連傳(chuan)來(lai),天(tian)(tian)(tian)羅地(di)(di)網已經(jing)布(bu)成(cheng)。共(gong)(gong)工在(zai)絕望中發(fa)出(chu)了(le)(le)(le)憤怒的(de)(de)(de)(de)吶喊,他(ta)(ta)一(yi)個(ge)(ge)獅子(zi)(zi)甩頭,朝不(bu)(bu)周(zhou)(zhou)山(shan)(shan)(shan)拼命撞去(qu),只聽得轟隆隆、潑喇喇一(yi)陣巨響,那撐(cheng)天(tian)(tian)(tian)拄(zhu)地(di)(di)的(de)(de)(de)(de)不(bu)(bu)周(zhou)(zhou)山(shan)(shan)(shan)竟被(bei)他(ta)(ta)攔腰撞斷,橫塌下來(lai)。天(tian)(tian)(tian)柱既經(jing)折斷,整個(ge)(ge)宇宙(zhou)便隨之發(fa)生了(le)(le)(le)大變動:西(xi)北(bei)(bei)的(de)(de)(de)(de)天(tian)(tian)(tian)穹(qiong)失去(qu)撐(cheng)持而(er)向下傾斜(xie),使(shi)拴系(xi)在(zai)北(bei)(bei)方天(tian)(tian)(tian)頂的(de)(de)(de)(de)太陽、月(yue)亮(liang)和星星在(zai)原來(lai)位置上再也站(zhan)不(bu)(bu)住腳,身(shen)不(bu)(bu)由己(ji)地(di)(di)掙脫(tuo)束縛,朝低(di)斜(xie)的(de)(de)(de)(de)西(xi)天(tian)(tian)(tian)滑去(qu),成(cheng)就(jiu)(jiu)了(le)(le)(le)我們今(jin)天(tian)(tian)(tian)所看見的(de)(de)(de)(de)日月(yue)星辰的(de)(de)(de)(de)運(yun)行線(xian)路(lu),解(jie)除了(le)(le)(le)當時(shi)人(ren)們所遭受的(de)(de)(de)(de)白(bai)晝永(yong)是白(bai)晝,黑(hei)夜(ye)永(yong)是黑(hei)夜(ye)的(de)(de)(de)(de)困苦。另一(yi)方面(mian),懸(xuan)吊大地(di)(di)東南(nan)角(jiao)的(de)(de)(de)(de)巨繩(sheng)被(bei)劇(ju)烈(lie)的(de)(de)(de)(de)震動崩斷了(le)(le)(le),東南(nan)大地(di)(di)塌陷下去(qu),成(cheng)就(jiu)(jiu)了(le)(le)(le)我們今(jin)天(tian)(tian)(tian)所看見的(de)(de)(de)(de)西(xi)北(bei)(bei)高(gao)、東南(nan)低(di)的(de)(de)(de)(de)地(di)(di)勢,和江(jiang)河東流、百川歸(gui)海(hai)的(de)(de)(de)(de)情景。
共工氏行為最后得到了人們(men)(men)的尊敬(jing)。在共工氏死后,人們(men)(men)奉他為水(shui)師(司水(shui)利之神)。他的兒子后土(tu)也被人們(men)(men)奉為社神(即(ji)土(tu)地神),后來人們(men)(men)發誓時說“蒼天在上后土(tu)在下(xia)”,就指的是他,由此(ci)可見人們(men)(men)對他們(men)(men)的敬(jing)重(zhong)。

昔者,共工與顓頊爭(zheng)為帝,怒而觸不周之山,天(tian)柱折,地(di)維絕(jue)。天(tian)傾(qing)西北,故日月(yue)星辰移(yi)焉;地(di)不滿東(dong)南,故水潦塵埃歸焉。

從前,共工(gong)與顓(zhuan)頊爭奪部(bu)落天(tian)帝之位,(共工(gong)在大戰(zhan)中慘敗,)憤怒地(di)撞擊(ji)不周(zhou)山,支撐(cheng)天(tian)的(de)柱(zhu)子(zi)折了,系(xi)著大地(di)的(de)繩(sheng)索斷了。(所(suo)以(yi))天(tian)向西北方向傾(qing)斜,所(suo)以(yi)日月、星辰都向西北方向移動(dong)了;大地(di)的(de)東(dong)(dong)南(nan)角塌陷了,所(suo)以(yi)江河泥沙都朝東(dong)(dong)南(nan)方向流去。
