1979年，加(jia)入樂隊(dui)Clannad，擔任鍵盤手。
1982年，因厭倦樂(le)隊(dui)(dui)的流行(xing)取(qu)向而離(li)開(kai)Clannad。后與樂(le)隊(dui)(dui)Nicky Ryan及Roma Ryan（作詞人(ren)）組成3人(ren)創作群，繼續開(kai)創個人(ren)事業(ye)。
1986年，為電影(ying)《青蛙王子(zi)》寫配樂(le)，開始個人音樂(le)生涯；同年，為紀錄片《The Celts》做配樂(le)；隨后，發行原聲(sheng)專輯《Enya》。
1988年，發(fa)行首(shou)張個人(ren)專輯(ji)《Watermark》；隨后，先(xian)后發(fa)行了《Shepherd Moons》、《The Memory Of Trees》、《Paint The Sky With Stars》等多首(shou)歌曲。

1997年，發行第一張(zhang)精選輯《The Best Of ENYA-Paint the Sky with Stars》；之后，又發行3碟裝禮盒(he)CD《The box of dream》夢幻(huan)音樂盒(he)。
2000年，發行專輯《A Day Without Rain》。
2001年，為《指環(huan)王》制作并演唱主(zhu)題(ti)曲(qu)(qu)《May It Be》；4月(yue)，單(dan)曲(qu)(qu)《野(ye)孩子》被選作浪漫電影《甜蜜11月(yue)》的主(zhu)題(ti)曲(qu)(qu)。
