《爭(zheng)座位帖》,又名《論(lun)座帖》《爭(zheng)座位稿》《與郭仆射(she)(she)書(shu)》,為唐廣德二年(nian)(764年(nian))十一月顏真卿致尚(shang)書(shu)右仆射(she)(she)、定襄郡王(wang)郭英乂(yi)的信函,是顏真卿行草書(shu)法的代表(biao)作,原跡已佚(yi),刻石存西安碑林。
《爭座位帖(tie)》原稿(gao)(gao)用(yong)唐畿縣獄狀磓熟紙(zhi)寫就(jiu),共七頁,禿筆書(shu),有(you)夾行小(xiao)注和勾改痕跡,短行不計共六十(shi)八行,全文(wen)(wen)計一(yi)千(qian)一(yi)百九十(shi)三字。顏真卿在信(xin)中直(zhi)指(zhi)郭(guo)英乂于(yu)(yu)安福(fu)寺興(xing)道會(hui)上藐視禮(li)儀,諂媚(mei)宦官魚朝恩,致其禮(li)遇高(gao)于(yu)(yu)六部尚書(shu)之事,字里行間洋(yang)溢(yi)著忠義之氣。該帖(tie)隨意自如,揮灑有(you)度,為歷代書(shu)家所重,與王(wang)羲之的(de)《蘭(lan)亭集(ji)序》并稱行書(shu)“雙(shuang)璧”,又與《祭侄(zhi)文(wen)(wen)稿(gao)(gao)》《告伯父文(wen)(wen)稿(gao)(gao)》并稱為“顏氏三稿(gao)(gao)”。

《爭座位帖》是顏真卿寫給(gei)郭(guo)(guo)英乂(yi)的(de)一封書信的(de)草稿。事情(qing)的(de)起(qi)因(yin)是唐朝(chao)的(de)中興(xing)名將郭(guo)(guo)子儀(yi)凱旋還朝(chao),代宗(zong)命(ming)文武百官于長安(an)城舉(ju)行歡迎儀(yi)式。負責(ze)安(an)排(pai)百官排(pai)列次序的(de)郭(guo)(guo)英乂(yi)為取悅于大宦(huan)官魚(yu)朝(chao)恩,不顧朝(chao)廷(ting)規制,刻意將魚(yu)朝(chao)恩的(de)座位排(pai)在品(pin)階比他(ta)高的(de)幾位尚書之前。對(dui)于這(zhe)樣露骨的(de)獻媚(mei)之舉(ju),一向以正色立朝(chao)的(de)顏真卿憤(fen)然致書郭(guo)(guo)英乂(yi),對(dui)其(qi)所作(zuo)所為進(jin)行嚴詞斥(chi)責(ze)。
顏真(zhen)卿(709年(nian)—784年(nian)),字清臣,京兆萬年(nian)(今陜(shan)西西安)人,祖籍瑯(lang)玡臨沂(yi)(今山東(dong)臨沂(yi)),唐朝名(ming)臣、書法家。顏真(zhen)卿擅(shan)長(chang)行(xing)、楷,初學褚遂良,后師從張旭(xu),得其(qi)筆法,其(qi)正楷端莊雄偉(wei),行(xing)書氣勢(shi)遒勁,創“顏體”楷書,對后世影響很大(da)(da),與(yu)趙(zhao)孟頫、柳公(gong)權、歐陽詢并稱為“楷書四大(da)(da)家”,又與(yu)柳公(gong)權并稱“顏柳”,被稱為“顏筋柳骨(gu)”。
《爭座位(wei)(wei)帖(tie)》不(bu)少筆(bi)意(yi)是(shi)(shi)從顏書楷體演化而來,寫得更(geng)為(wei)疾速,更(geng)為(wei)放逸(yi),書風(feng)跌宕浪漫,全以中(zhong)鋒用筆(bi),氣足意(yi)滿,殺紙(zhi)之氣溢于紙(zhi)外,似乎天地之間貫穿著股豪邁的正(zheng)義(yi)力量,無(wu)堅不(bu)摧。雖(sui)是(shi)(shi)信(xin)手寫來,但(dan)筆(bi)筆(bi)之中(zhong)氣韻飽滿,靜(jing)動有態,大小參差(cha)。以直筆(bi)為(wei)主,渾厚藏拙(zhuo),質樸蒼(cang)勁(jing),奇偉秀拔(ba)(ba),筆(bi)勢縱(zong)橫,筆(bi)力矯健,筆(bi)鋒雄(xiong)勁(jing)爽利。《爭座位(wei)(wei)帖(tie)》筆(bi)法中(zhong)的圓勁(jing),是(shi)(shi)篆籀(zhou)的生(sheng)化,在圓潤之中(zhong)更(geng)有勁(jing)節,飛動之中(zhong)更(geng)帶(dai)韌(ren)性,融北朝的雄(xiong)渾遒逸(yi)和中(zhong)唐的肥勁(jing)寬(kuan)博于一(yi)爐,勁(jing)立拔(ba)(ba)豪宕,姿態飛動。
《爭座位帖》以行書(shu)為體,草書(shu)輔之。結(jie)字是正(zheng)書(shu)中快(kuai)寫縱逸,以筆勢的(de)(de)婉健流動為契機來(lai)發行、草之變,既富“飛動詭(gui)形(xing)異狀”之態,又不失有凝重勁拔的(de)(de)神韻。它(ta)與《祭(ji)侄稿》一(yi)(yi)樣沒有刻意做作的(de)(de)成分(fen),是一(yi)(yi)種在自然的(de)(de)傾訴式的(de)(de)書(shu)寫中達到了書(shu)寫的(de)(de)極(ji)則,將本我的(de)(de)真、藝術內(nei)質(zhi)的(de)(de)美、空間的(de)(de)騰(teng)挪(nuo)起伏表現融為一(yi)(yi)體。
從章法上看(kan),《爭座位帖》通篇構成了自然(ran)疊嶂、雄逸茂暢(chang)、舒(shu)和爛漫的心靈圖畫,一派天機之中,凜冽(lie)正義的精神凸出(chu)。使人從中可以(yi)(yi)體味出(chu)顏真(zhen)卿剛強耿(geng)直、樸素(su)敦厚的性(xing)格。因為(wei)寫的是書信,是草稿書,所(suo)以(yi)(yi)信手寫來,故而(er)前松后緊,行疏字(zi)密,大小粗細相間(jian),加(jia)上圈誤補遺,多(duo)處修改,無(wu)有任何(he)安(an)排(pai)之意(yi),顯得自然(ran)優雅,任意(yi)奔放(fang)。
北宋書(shu)(shu)法家蘇(su)軾《東坡題跋·題魯(lu)公書(shu)(shu)草》:“比公他書(shu)(shu)尤為奇特,信乎自然(ran),動有(you)姿(zi)態(tai)。”
北宋(song)書(shu)(shu)法(fa)家米芾《寶章(zhang)待訪錄》:“禿筆,字字意相(xiang)連屬,飛動詭形異狀,得于意外也。世之(zhi)顏(yan)行(xing)第一書(shu)(shu)也。”
清代書(shu)(shu)法(fa)家王澍《虛(xu)舟題跋》:“三稿皆公奇(qi)絕之(zhi)作,《祭侄》奇(qi)古蒙(meng)宕,《告伯父(fu)》淵潤從容,至《論座》則(ze)兼有《祭侄》《告伯》兩稿之(zhi)奇(qi),情結不同,書(shu)(shu)隨之(zhi)異,所以直(zhi)入(ru)神品,足為《蘭亭(ting)》后勁也”。
清代學者阮元《顏(yan)魯公(gong)爭座位帖(tie)(tie)跋》:“《爭座位帖(tie)(tie)》如熔金出冶(ye),隨(sui)地流走,元氣渾(hun)然(ran),不(bu)復以(yi)姿媚為(wei)(wei)念。夫不(bu)復以(yi)姿媚為(wei)(wei)念者,其品乃高(gao),所以(yi)此帖(tie)(tie)為(wei)(wei)行書之極致。”
清代書法家何紹基:“此帖筆(bi)法之佳(jia),當在《蘭亭》之上。”
清末民初(chu)學者楊守敬《學書邇言》:“行(xing)書自右軍(jun)后,以魯公此帖為(wei)創格,絕去(qu)姿(zi)媚,獨標古勁。”
《爭座(zuo)位帖》稿(gao)本(ben)墨跡(ji)北宋(song)時藏于長安(an)安(an)師文處,安(an)氏據以摹(mo)勒刻(ke)石(shi),后(hou)安(an)家兄(xiong)弟分(fen)家,將真跡(ji)一剖為二,其(qi)后(hou)又輾轉進入內府(fu),自此再無(wu)下(xia)落,不(bu)知所終。惟其(qi)刻(ke)石(shi)今尚存西安(an)碑林(lin),世稱“關(guan)中本(ben)”、“陜(shan)刻(ke)本(ben)”。好事者因以該本(ben)為底(di)本(ben)反復(fu)翻刻(ke),翻本(ben)眾多,良莠(you)不(bu)齊,以宋(song)拓為最珍。
宋(song)拓(tuo)之(zhi)中,據王壯弘《崇(chong)善(shan)樓(lou)筆記》載,以晚清四大藏書(shu)樓(lou)之(zhi)鐵琴銅(tong)劍樓(lou)藏北宋(song)拓(tuo)本(ben)為第(di)一,惜今已(yi)不知尚存人間(jian)否(fou)。而存世(shi)之(zhi)宋(song)拓(tuo),以吳榮光、潘仕(shi)成(cheng)、梁啟超遞(di)藏北宋(song)拓(tuo)本(ben)為第(di)一。翁(weng)方(fang)綱題跋定為北宋(song),民國(guo)七年有正書(shu)局亦作為北宋(song)拓(tuo)本(ben)影(ying)印出版,鄭孝胥有跋,復為梁啟超重(zhong)金購藏,今入國(guo)家(jia)圖書(shu)館善(shan)本(ben)特藏部,為當今學術界公認(ren)之(zhi)北宋(song)拓(tuo)本(ben)。
此外(wai),還有(you)何(he)紹基題跋宋拓本,今(jin)在上海圖書館,為國(guo)家一級(ji)文物。其次,則有(you)啟(qi)功題跋、妙(miao)鑒(jian)齋藏南(nan)宋拓本。
