歷史沿革
最早的(de)城(cheng)隍廟見于三國吳赤烏二年(239)建的(de)蕪湖城(cheng)隍廟。歷史上有唐人張說、
李(li)德裕、李(li)陽冰、杜牧等祭祀(si)(si)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)神的文獻(xian)記載。宋(song)代以后(hou)(hou),城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)開始人(ren)格化、多以去世后(hou)(hou)的英雄或(huo)名臣(chen)奉為(wei)(wei)(wei)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)神,如蘇州(zhou)祀(si)(si)戰國時春申(shen)君黃歇,上海祀(si)(si)秦裕伯,北京祀(si)(si)文天祥、楊椒山,杭州(zhou)祀(si)(si)周新,會稽祀(si)(si)龐(pang)王(wang)(wang),南寧(ning)、桂林祀(si)(si)蘇緘等。后(hou)(hou)唐末帝清泰元(yuan)年(nian)(934)封城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)王(wang)(wang)爵。明太祖(zu)洪(hong)武(wu)元(yuan)年(nian)(1368)則下旨封開封、臨濠、束和、平(ping)滁四城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)的城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)王(wang)(wang),職(zhi)位正(zheng)一品(pin),與(yu)人(ren)間的太師、太傅、太保“三公”和左、右丞(cheng)相平(ping)級(ji),又封各(ge)府、州(zhou)、縣城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)公、侯(hou)、伯,即(ji)府城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)監察(cha)司氏城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)威靈公,職(zhi)位正(zheng)二(er)品(pin);州(zhou)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)監察(cha)司氏城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)顯(xian)佑(you)侯(hou),職(zhi)位正(zheng)三品(pin);縣城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)為(wei)(wei)(wei)監察(cha)司氏城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)顯(xian)佑(you)伯,職(zhi)位正(zheng)四品(pin),并且重建(jian)各(ge)地(di)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)廟(miao),規模高廣(guang)與(yu)當地(di)官署衙門完全一樣(yang),還按級(ji)別配制冕旒哀服。明太祖(zu)洪(hong)武(wu)三年(nian)(1370)正(zheng)祀(si)(si)典,詔去封號,只稱(cheng)“某府或(huo)某縣城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)之(zhi)神,又令各(ge)地(di)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)廟(miao)不得雜祀(si)(si)其他(ta)之(zhi)神。據說明太祖(zu)朱元(yuan)璋出生在土(tu)地(di)廟(miao)里,所以他(ta)對土(tu)地(di)廟(miao)以及土(tu)地(di)的“上司”城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)極為(wei)(wei)(wei)崇敬(jing)。明孝宗(zong)年(nian)間(1488—1506),莆田抗元(yuan)英雄陳文龍(1232—1277)被封為(wei)(wei)(wei)福州(zhou)城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)爺(ye),其從叔(shu)抗元(yuan)英雄陳瓚(zan)(1232—1277)被封為(wei)(wei)(wei)興(xing)化府城(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)(huang)(huang)(huang)爺(ye)。
在原莆(pu)田縣(xian)內(nei),有創(chuang)建(jian)于(yu)明洪武二年(1369),位于(yu)城(cheng)(cheng)內(nei)長(chang)壽街廟(miao)(miao)前巷(xiang)的興(xing)化府城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)廟(miao)(miao),由照墻、外埕、大(da)門(men)、甬(yong)道、儀門(men)、中門(men)、正殿、后殿及兩廂護(hu)厝等組成,占地面積24畝(mu)(一說18畝(mu)),與興(xing)化府衙,莆(pu)田縣(xian)衙一樣(yang)大(da),為(wei)莆(pu)田五大(da)宮廟(miao)(miao)之一;主祀城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)大(da)神陳(chen)瓚,俗(su)稱(cheng)城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang)爺。該廟(miao)(miao)現為(wei)福(fu)建(jian)省級重點文物保(bao)護(hu)單(dan)位。
歷史文化
這(zhe)是(shi)一(yi)座(zuo)(zuo)典型(xing)的(de)漢(han)式寺廟(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao),格局(ju)簡(jian)煉(lian)。一(yi)如隨意散落在江南(nan)某個小鎮(zhen)的(de)庵院(yuan)廟(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)堂,但是(shi)稍加留意便可看出這(zhe)座(zuo)(zuo)寺廟(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)的(de)氣(qi)度(du)與眾不同。首先廟(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)前高懸的(de)道(dao)幡說明這(zhe)是(shi)一(yi)座(zuo)(zuo)道(dao)教(jiao)(jiao)寺廟(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao),這(zhe)在熱河街上可謂鳳毛麟角。遍(bian)布避暑(shu)山莊周圍的(de)多為藏傳(chuan)佛教(jiao)(jiao)寺廟(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao),而修建這(zhe)樣一(yi)座(zuo)(zuo)道(dao)教(jiao)(jiao)寺廟(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)則(ze)是(shi)出于對漢(han)族群眾宗教(jiao)(jiao)信仰的(de)尊重,同時由(you)乾(qian)隆欽定“熱河都城隍(huang)廟(miao)(miao)(miao)(miao)”似可說明古熱河在當時社(she)會(hui)的(de)政治地位。

城(cheng)(cheng)隍(huang),起源(yuan)于古代(dai)的(de)(de)水(隍(huang))庸(城(cheng)(cheng))的(de)(de)祭祀,為(wei)(wei)《周宮》八神(shen)(shen)(shen)(shen)之一。“城(cheng)(cheng)”原指挖土筑(zhu)的(de)(de)高(gao)墻(qiang),“隍(huang)”原指沒(mei)有水的(de)(de)護城(cheng)(cheng)壕(hao)。古人(ren)造城(cheng)(cheng)是(shi)為(wei)(wei)了保護城(cheng)(cheng)內百(bai)姓的(de)(de)安全,所以修了高(gao)大(da)的(de)(de)城(cheng)(cheng)墻(qiang)、城(cheng)(cheng)樓、城(cheng)(cheng)門以及壕(hao)城(cheng)(cheng)、護城(cheng)(cheng)河。他們(men)認(ren)為(wei)(wei)與人(ren)們(men)的(de)(de)生活、生產(chan)安全密(mi)切相關(guan)的(de)(de)事物,都有神(shen)(shen)(shen)(shen)在,于是(shi)城(cheng)(cheng)和隍(huang)被神(shen)(shen)(shen)(shen)化(hua)為(wei)(wei)城(cheng)(cheng)市的(de)(de)保護神(shen)(shen)(shen)(shen)。道教把它納(na)入自(zi)己的(de)(de)神(shen)(shen)(shen)(shen)系,稱它是(shi)剪除兇惡(e)、保國護邦之神(shen)(shen)(shen)(shen),并管領陰間的(de)(de)亡魂。

特色
城隍廟現為(wei)承德市(shi)為(wei)數不(bu)多的一家道(dao)教寺廟,風(feng)格(ge)有(you)別(bie)于外八廟,很值得(de)一看。這(zhe)里每(mei)日上午(wu)9:00-10:00有(you)道(dao)教法事活動,且每(mei)逢重(zhong)大道(dao)教節日,必舉行道(dao)教法會慶賀。
旅游交通
城隍廟位于西大街路北,出避(bi)暑山莊(zhuang)沿麗正門大街西行至火(huo)神廟處(chu),右(you)轉上西大街再走(zou)約1公里。也(ye)可乘5路、7路公交車(che)到中醫院下車(che)即到,乘小(xiao)公共(gong)汽車(che)或打車(che)更為方便(bian)。
