梁(liang)代(dai)名僧(seng)寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)的(de)(de)墓塔(ta)(ta)-寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)公塔(ta)(ta),這(zhe)(zhe)是(shi)寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)和尚留在(zai)世上屈指(zhi)可數的(de)(de)遺跡之(zhi)一(yi)。寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),就是(shi)人們所熟知(zhi)的(de)(de)濟公和尚的(de)(de)原形。天監十三年,一(yi)日,寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)忽(hu)將佛堂中的(de)(de)金剛像搬出,自稱“菩薩當去耳(er)”,次(ci)日便無疾而(er)終。寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)死后,梁(liang)武帝出20萬銅錢將寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)葬(zang)于(yu)(yu)獨(du)(du)龍阜(今(jin)明孝陵所在(zai)地),其女永定(ding)(ding)公主也以(yi)湯(tang)沐之(zhi)資(zi)為寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)修建(jian)了一(yi)座五(wu)層寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)塔(ta)(ta)(今(jin)寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)公塔(ta)(ta)的(de)(de)前(qian)(qian)身(shen)(shen)(shen))。傳說朱(zhu)元璋為建(jian)孝陵搬遷(qian)寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)公塔(ta)(ta)時(shi),挖出了寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)的(de)(de)遺體(ti),見其端座于(yu)(yu)對合的(de)(de)兩只(zhi)缸內(nei)(nei),“真身(shen)(shen)(shen)不壞,頭發(fa)披身(shen)(shen)(shen),指(zhi)抓(zhua)繞身(shen)(shen)(shen)數匝,”軍士們無法(fa)(fa)搬動他,明太祖(zu)親自前(qian)(qian)往(wang)賠(pei)禮(li),答應用金棺銀槨(guo)厚葬(zang),建(jian)靈谷(gu)寺并(bing)賜良田360頃奉(feng)香火,這(zhe)(zhe)才搬動了寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)和尚。民國(guo)時(shi)期為建(jian)陣亡(wang)將士公墓,寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)公塔(ta)(ta)被遷(qian)至現址。據當時(shi)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)書記載,塔(ta)(ta)下應埋(mai)有(you)(you)寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)棺槨(guo),于(yu)(yu)是(shi)決定(ding)(ding)發(fa)掘(jue)塔(ta)(ta)基(ji),挖得一(yi)小棺,外槨(guo)已(yi)經腐朽,棺內(nei)(nei)有(you)(you)一(yi)石(shi)函,內(nei)(nei)貯(zhu)陶缽一(yi)只(zhi),缽內(nei)(nei)藏寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)的(de)(de)佛牙、舍利(li),另有(you)(you)石(shi)碑(bei)(bei)一(yi)方,記載了寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)公塔(ta)(ta)從獨(du)(du)龍阜遷(qian)徙靈谷(gu)寺的(de)(de)經過。寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)公塔(ta)(ta)前(qian)(qian)的(de)(de)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)公殿內(nei)(nei)有(you)(you)一(yi)塊(kuai)黑色石(shi)碑(bei)(bei),因碑(bei)(bei)上刻(ke)有(you)(you)唐代(dai)畫家吳道子所繪寶(bao)(bao)(bao)(bao)志(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)像、大詩人李白所作的(de)(de)像贊,由唐代(dai)著名書法(fa)(fa)家顏真卿書寫,故稱唐賢三絕碑(bei)(bei)。由于(yu)(yu)戰火毀(hui)壞,到(dao)清代(dai)第三次(ci)重刻(ke),碑(bei)(bei)額上端又(you)增(zeng)添乾隆手書“凈土指(zhi)南”四字。
